International Day of the Disappeared-2017
The
International Day of the Disappeared, on August 30 of each year, is a
day created to draw attention to the fate of individuals imprisoned at places
and under poor conditions unknown to their relatives and/or legal
representatives.
Nepal
has faced 10 years long armed conflict. More than 1350 people were disappeared
during the conflict period . Different human rights organizations and civil Society organized
Candle Light vigil program in Kathmandu. Main motto of this programme was “Peace
without fact and justice and reconciliation without accountability is not
acceptable”.
